Happy Holidays!!

What’s New At The Corp:

We Here at The Corp Want to Wish Everyone A Very Happy Holiday. And as a special Holiday treat, we have a some special travel tips to keep you and yours safe this holiday season.

Tip of The Week: The Corps Holiday Tips

  1. If your planning on making a trip back home, make sure your car is in good shape, and on a full tank of gas.You should never begin a road trip in a car that needs serious repairs. If you have done so, you are risking some serious problems. So, if you can, have someone give you a quick checkup to make sure things are on the up-and-up before you hit the road.

Also, be sure to travel starting on a full tank of gas, and have routine stops planned to refill the tank before it reaches close to the empty point.

Also, you want to make sure that you have a cell phone with a charger, proper paperwork (AAA card, Up-to-date-license and insurance) and a self defense product in your car at all times in case of an emergency. Also, carry an extra canister of gas, food and water just in case. These things can save your life.

  1. If you experience a breakdown, don’t count on a stranger. Follow this protocol for maximum safety.

  • Pull as far onto the shoulder as possible and turn your emergency flashers on.
  • Use your Local GPS tracking (Onstar) to let them know you car has broken down and you are in need of immediate vehicle assistance. If you don’t have GPS tracking. Use your cell phone to call for AAA or law enforcement response.
  • If a stranger stops, NEVER GET OUT OF YOUR CAR! You should partially roll down window, and let them know you are okay and have already contacted law enforcement who are on their way to help you.

  • If you find that you absolutely have no choice but to rely on a stranger, follow the protocol above, and ask them to go to a phone and call police or a tow service.

  1. Maintain Caution if a vehicle tries to stop you:

If a car signals to stop you, unless they are designate law enforcement, extreme caution needs to be taken. Signal the person to follow you to the nearest safe place (where there is lots of light and people) DO NOT STOP ON THE ROAD.

Drive within the speed limit and take the shortest possible route to the nearest safe place. Once at a safe location, call Triple A or Law Enforcement or your local GPS system (Onstar). Let then know that you were stopped by a vehicle on the side of the road, and you are in need of law enforcement and/ or vehicle assistance.

Most of all, enjoy your special time with family and friends. Here’s a hilarious video that has nothing to do with self defense, but I thought you guys would like it anyway. Enjoy…
