Happy New Year To All Our Corp Readers!! We have had one heck of a year an we have all of you to thank for it. We promise to make next year even bigger and better than before. Watch out for an some really cool changes to the corp, all for your convenience.

Tip of the Week: How to Stay Safe on New Years Eve…

Travel in Groups: If you’re going to a celebration, it’s always more fun to party with friends, right?

And truth be told, it’s also much safer. Studies show that an attacker is far less likely to attack a potential victim if they are with more than one person. So be safe from the beginning and travel in groups

Have a Designated Driver: If you’re going to drink you need to make sure you have a designated driver. This will be the person who will drive everyone home at the end of the night.

But, let’s just hypothetically say the designated driver does not stay dry the whole night. What should you do? Well, if you are at a friends home, who you trust you may want to stay at their home for the night. If you are at a club, be sure to have the bartender call you a cab. You can always come back for your car in the morning.

Be careful what you drink: So you’re a good looking girl who is looking for a good time on New Years. You step into the party and all the guys want to bring you drinks.

Well, keep em’ coming right?

Um, you may want to hold your horses before you go any further…

Trust me. We here at the corp are by no means trying to spoil your good time. We want you to have fun on New Years. But if you’re going to let some stranger buy you drinks make sure that you see what they are doing before you drink it. Date rape is always an issue, as well as other dangers. So, just by walking with someone to the bar, you can be certain no harm comes to you when you get your free drink… only a hangover and maybe some terrible pick-up lines.

Come to the Party Packing: And no, we’re not talking about your glock nine either. We’re talking about a stun gun, taser gun, or pepper spray. Truth be told, it is not at all uncommon for things to get out of hand on New Years, and while we all really just want to have a good time, some people just don’t know when to quit.

So, if you find yourself in such a situation, you can rest easy knowing that you have some self defense protection.

So with that tip, we bid you a Happy New Year. As for us at the Corp, we’re off to party.

Farewell and Happy Tidings,

Today, we are going to answer the age old question of “What is the Ultimate Self Defense Style”. Here’s a post we got from Sarah from Boston, Massachusetts she writes:

Dear Corp,

After being harassed by some a$#-hole in the club the other day, I started to think about a few things…

I’m a single girl living on her own, and I really don’t have any way to protect myself. I’m kind of scared of self defense stuff because of what might happen if the attacker takes it from me.

So, I decided I want to take a self defense course, but I’m not sure which one is the best. Can you tell me which self defense course is the best out there?

Sarah, Boston MA

Well Sarah, if you think you’re alone on this one, you’re not. This is the kind of thing most people ask us at the corp, and we’re going to do the best we can to answer your question.

Everywhere we go, people want to know what the ultimate martial art or self defense course is, but the absolute truth ids, it varies for each person. And we will be the first to tell you that it can. So, we are going to dispel your myths by telling you the 3 Annoying Myths in Self Defense.

Annoying Myth #1: There is an Ultimate Self Defense Course

The forums ring with people claiming this self defense course is the ultimate self defense course or this style is the ultimate self defense style. These people are often cleverly coined ‘forum warriors’.

These people are often affiliate marketers of a specific course pr just wannabee martial artist, many of which have never been in a serious fight in their lives. No wonder so many of their comments leave people confuse.

In truth, when you want to determine a self defense style, a lot of things come into play. What is you size? How strong are you? What is your style of learning? All these things come into play when you are determining the best method for you.

You also have to look at the school. How well do the students

Remember, when you’re looking for a good self defense school, you don’t need to find the very best. That is a life long journey. You just need to find a good school that will show you how to effectively get the job done of defending yourself. That’s all.

Once you get that down, then, only if you choose to, you can begin searching for schools that can advance your techniques because you will know what to look for.

So in a nutshell, instead of searching for the ultimate style, just focus on finding a style that you think works well for you, and a school where the teacher is a good communicator who answers your questions and the students are good fighters.

Annoying Myth #2: You Can Become A Deadly Commando In Just a Few Days With this Take-Home Self Defense Course…

You’ve probably seen ads for these on the internet or in self defense magazines. Some top secret law enforcement or army guy tells you that they have the ultimate top secret self defense technique that will turn you into an army super soldier in days. Yet when you get them, what you learn doesn’t live up to the hype.

Again, we are not attacking take home self defense courses. There are some very goods ones out there that, when used along with live martial arts training can really help you to improve your overall technique.

However, when a scam artist states that their course can deliver impossible results with very little training, you have to wonder. Our opinion is, when you see these offers, don’t get over excited. They may have some very valid tips, but nothing that will make you a one man or woman army.

So, again, martial arts training from a school mixed with take home self defense courses can be very good if you get the right one. But take home self defense courses without proper training from a school can often be incomplete and leave you unprepared for a real life-death situation.

Annoying Myth #3: Your Own Two Hands Are Your Best Self Defense Weapon

This myth is absolutely ridiculous, and makes me angry more than anything. This myth states that there is no better self defense weapon than your own two hands and feet. And to me, there is no sillier of a myth than this.

For those of who self defense dreamers with Champaign wishes and caviar dreams, who think that this empty hand combat is the only way to go, allow me to elaborate…

You are walking down the street when an attacker tells you to get in the car. You tell them, “I don’t think so”, and put up your dukes. The attacker then pulls out a gun. Who will be the victor?

I can almost guarantee you it will not be you.

Now, if you have been specially trained in the art of unarmed combat through the military, law enforcement, and martial arts you’re chances are much better than that. However, those people know and understand the importance of using more than just your hands and feet.

Now don’t be mistaken, training in any empty hand combat is an excellent idea. It conditions you, and shows you how to effectively defend yourself. However, empty hand combat should only be used as an absolute last defense.

The truth is the most effective self defense weapon you could use is not your hands or feet, or anything else for that matter. The most effective self defense weapon is your brain. In other words, good old fashioned common since.

Think about it for a second. If you had a choice of a way to stop a criminal dead in their tracks, I am sure you could think of about 3 or 4 that might be more effective then just using you’re bare hands.

For example, you might think of using a taser gun, to stop them dead in their tracks. Or you may want to use a pepper spray to shoot at them from 6 feet away. You could hit them with a stun gun and run like heck or you could pick up a stone or brick and throw it at them.

You see what we mean?

Too many people think that the world is a kung fu movie, when really it’s not. The real world thugs will not only hurt you, they will kill you and they don’t care about your empty hand abilities or not. So you need to do as much as you can to legal stack the odds of survival in your favor.

But what happens if someone takes away my self defense weapon?

Well, there is a possibility that this could happen, but again, by educating yourself on self defense products you can greatly reduce the chance of you being harmed if this happens. For example, did you know that most stun guns have a disable pin that, once removed renders the device inoperable? That means they could never use your stun gun against you.

You may also want to think of the fact that having the advantages of having a self defense weapon on you far, far outweighs the disadvantages of not having anything to defend yourself with.

Think of a self defense weapon as the ultimate diversion. It is a doorway out of a difficult situation, so if you find yourself in a situation where someone is taking you self defense weapon away, don’t tussle with them. Throw it at their face. Use it to your leverage and always, always, run as if your life depended on it, because in truth it does.

If your planning on making a trip back home, make sure your car is in good shape, and on a full tank of gas.You should never begin a road trip in a car that needs serious repairs. If you have done so, you are risking some serious problems. So, if you can, have someone give you a quick checkup to make sure things are on the up-and-up before you hit the road.

Also, be sure to travel starting on a full tank of gas, and have routine stops planned to refill the tank before it reaches close to the empty point.

Also, you want to make sure that you have a cell phone with a charger, proper paperwork (AAA card, Up-to-date-license and insurance) and a self defense product in your car at all times in case of an emergency. Also, carry an extra canister of gas, food and water just in case. These things can save your life.

Welcome to a new installment of Ask The Corp, where we answer the most pressing questions you may have about self defense and survival. This week, we’re going to talk about a question we get all the time. This one came from Ray Mitchell in New Hampshire. Ray Wrote:

Dear Corp: I want to know which one is better a Stun Gun or a Taser Gun

Ray
This is a good question, and it’s one that we get a lot. Obviously, both stun guns and taser guns are extremely effective self defense weapons. Yet, there is definitely a distinct difference between both weapons, and both have their up and down sides to ownership. So today we are going to give you the real deal no-holds-barred truth about both Tasers and Stun Guns.

First, I think we should start with stun guns. You see, most people don’t really know much about what they are or how they work, which leads to many myths surrounding its overall effectiveness and use.

What is a Stun Gun?

A stun gun is an electrical self-defense device that uses high voltage to stop an attacker. Touching a person with the prongs on the stun gun quickly immobilizes the attacker. However, because the amperage is very low, no serious or permanent injury is inflicted.

Stun Gun Pros…

When it comes to close range weapons, there are very few that can add up to the stun gun. The stun gun has the ability to put a person down quick and efficiently. More importantly, the current is one way which means that only the attacker can get shocked and not you. Even if the attacker touches, and even if you are in a puddle of water, you never have to worry about the current coming back to stun you.

Stun Gun Cons…

Stun guns don’t have any far range capabilities. A person has to be with arm’s length in order to be able to use it. However, if someone were to grab you and try to take something from you or force you into a car it’s excellent.

What is a Taser Gun?

Taser guns are a gun-like electrical self defense device. Like a gun it contains a handle and trigger. Upon firing, compressed nitrogen projects two Taser probes 15 feet at a speed of 135 feet per second. An electrical signal transmits throughout the region where the probes make contact with the body or clothing.

The result of a taser gun shot is an instant loss of the attacker’s neuromuscular control and any ability to perform coordinated action. Plus an added power bursts from the device ensures that the nervous system of the target does not recover instantly to allow him to remove the probes. The follow-on bursts disrupt the process of re-equilibration of the nervous system. While the target is disabled, the user can place the device on the ground and escape.

Taser Gun Pros…

When it comes to self defense weapons, there really is none better. Firstly, taser guns have both long and short range. With a taser gun, you can shoot an attacker form a distance. However, if the attacker comes in at close range, you can still use the taser gun as a stun gun.

Secondly, a taser gun has more wattage than a stun gun which gives it more stunning capability. In fact, according to law enforcement, taser guns have the most wattage possible that can shock the human body without causing permanent damage. Taser guns also hold a 95% efficiency rating, which is even better than firearms.

Taser Gun Cons…

If there were any con to this weapon, it would probably be the price. Your average taser gun can run you in the area of anywhere form $400-$600. However, a taser gun will probably run cheaper than your average hand gun. Plus you can get one in most areas without a hand gun license.

So Which One Is Better?

When it comes to overall capability and overall effectiveness, the winner would have to be the taser gun. But don’t put stun guns down for the count, for a fraction of the cost of a taser, stun guns are self defense weapons with a proven track record for putting bad guys down for the count. In our opinion, you can’t go wrong with either one.

PS. Did you know Project Security Corp Sells Stun Guns and Tasers?

We sell the top of the line stun guns and taser guns for your self defense protection. No matter what your budget, the corp provides a wide variety of stun guns and taser guns to fit your spemding needs. Why Not Get one Today?

Tip Of The Week: How to Protect Your Child Against Kidnappers

Today The Corp wants to talk about an extremely serious issue. It’s an issue that most parents don’t want to talk about because, well, frankly, it’s a nightmare. So, quite often we go forward thinking it won’t happen to our child when, in fact, it could. Today, we’re going to talk about child kidnapping.

So just how real is this silent epidemic. Well, here are some startling stats taken from the Kids Fighting Chance Website…

- Every 40 seconds in the United States, a child is reported missing or abducted. That translates to over 2,000 children per day (under 18 years of age) or 800,000 per year.
- Of child victims of “stereotypical kidnappings, “40 percent are killed, 4 percent are never found, 71 percent are by a stranger and 29 percent are by a slight acquaintance.” In 1999 there were over 115 “stereotypical kidnappings” of children in the United States (Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrownaway Children, October 2002)
- Most abductions occur within a quarter of a mile from the victim’s home (Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrownaway Children, October 2002)
- In 46 percent of non-family abductions, the child was sexually assaulted. In 31 percent of the cases the child was physically assaulted. In 40 percent of the cases, the perpetrator used a weapon (Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrownaway Children, October 2002)
- Of abducted children who are ultimately murdered, 74 percent are dead within three hours of the abduction (State of Washington’s Office of the Attorney General; National Center of Missing and Exploited Children)
Each year, thousands upon thousands of kidnappings occur, yet, we continue to tell ourselves “It won’t happen to my child..”

Well, we here at the corp want to make sure that the next victim is not your child. So, here are some tips that you can use to help your child prevent a child abuse situation from ever occurring.

Educate Your children about child abuse from an early age: One of the biggest mistakes parents make is not effectively educating their children about the issues concerning kidnapping or abduction. Start from an early age and continue to teach your child about strangers.

Create a secret password: This is an incredibly important and simple one. You should always have a password that only you and your child know. This is a password the child should ask for if they ever have to answer the door when you are not there, or if someone has to come and pick them up.

Always try to accompany your child to the houses of family member and especially friends: In the days of myspace and facebook it become increasingly easier for child predators to catch their pray… YOUR CHILD.

So make it your priority to accompany your child to any family member or friends house, especially if it is a new friend, whom you have not met. Always get a working number, and have your child call you halfway through the visit to let you know everything is alright.

Use Technology: In our current technological age, there are a wide variety of tracking devices we can use to allow law enforcement to quickly locate our child. Remember, if a child is lost, we have less than 3 hours to locate our child before possible death, and with a GPS system, that location is definitely a reality.

How Do I Find a Child Tracking System?

You can simply type in “child Tracking Systems on google, or you can get child tracking systems from the corp. Click Here To View Our Selection of Child Tracking Devices.
By simply following these steps you greatly increase your child’s chance of survival in a possible kidnap situation.
The Corp

What’s New at the Corp

The Video of The Week is Here!

We know that you guys have been working hard throughout the week, and sometimes you deserve a little treat. So, at long last, we at the corp are excited to present the video of the week.

These videos will be helpful, exciting, and sometimes downright hilarious. Keep an eye out starting this Friday for our video of the week.

Also, if you have any exciting, or funny videos pertaining to self defense that you want posted, send them to us at videos@projectsecuritycorp.com. Who knows, we may even post it on our blog!

Tip of The Week: Developing a Security Plan
You know, we at the corp often get a lot of questions about stun guns, taser guns, and pepper spray. After a while we at the corp have slowly begun to realize is that most people simply think that a stun gun, taser gun, or pepper spray will solve all of their self defense problems when that could not be further from the truth.

So, how do I insure that my family will be safe in any violent situation? The answer is simple… Develop a Security Plan!

What is a security plan?

A security plan is a plan put in motion that provides you and your family with the best possible solution for safety all around. It looks at everything from kidnappings and car robberies to skirmishes and house break-ins. Then gives you a tool or way to either prevent or defend yourself efficiently in that situation.

How do I develop a security plan?

Well, we’re glad you asked. Here is a step-by-step method for developing a security plan that is sure to keep your family safe for years to come.

Take an inventory of every person in your house: First you’re going to want to take an inventory of everyone in your household. So, for example, if you are living by yourself, then the only person on you inventory will be you. However, if you live with your girlfriend or wife, then the people on your inventory will be you and your girlfriend or wife.

Here is the initial information that you’re going to want to write down for your inventory:

Persons Name:

Age: write down how old they are

Sex: Write down if they are male of female
